The Alta® F Series represents the next step in the evolution of the Alta line of cameras with faster readout speeds. The Alta line continues to support a wide variety of front-illuminated, back-illuminated and interline transfer CCDs. All Alta systems are backed by a 2 year warranty on the camera and a 3 year warranty on the CCD chamber integrity. Current U Series customers can easily upgrade their systems to F Series, for more information contact Apogee Customer Support.

Alta F Series cameras are available with a wide variety of sensors, including: Back-illuminated sensors with very high quantum efficiency, some with sensitivity in the deep UV; Interline transfer sensors with fast electronic shuttering and inherent anti-blooming; front-illuminated CCDs with high sensitivity in the near-IR without etaloning. In general, the larger the pixel size, the higher the dynamic range. Smaller pixels (about 7 microns) are typically used for microscopy (F32; F2000; F4000); larger pixels and larger arrays are typically used for astronomy (front-illuminated F16M, F9000, F6, back-illuminated F42, F47, F230).
